Green Shades is the first system worldwide that allows the installation of vegetated awnings or tensile structures covered in vegetation.These elements open up a new range of possibilities for urban landscaping and climate control in covered spaces. In cities, where heat is a problem, Green Shades is an optimal solution for commercial streets, terraces, and squares.
The spaces and projects created reduce the temperature both in their surroundings and under the cover. Thanks to the evapotranspiration produced by the vegetative system, the awnings act as vegetative air conditioners with a cooling power of 112 frigorías/m2.
In addition, the composition and selected plant species are optimized for the absorption of NOX and CO2, contributing to the improvement of air quality in our cities.The lightweight and easy installation allows for placement in streets where, due to lack of space or difficulty of intervention, trees or other types of vegetation cannot be installed.

SHADES ANCHORED TO FACADES
Ideal for introducing vegetation in commercial streets and public spaces in historic districts, providing shaded areas that, in turn, improve air quality and comfort in the city.
A previous study of each facade is carried out to design the anchors, in order to meet structural and regulatory requirements.
SHADES WITH SUPPORTS
For greater design flexibility, a custom structure with horizontal and vertical supports and anchors can be used to vegetation any space of any size.
When there are no facades near the space to be vegetated, or anchoring to them is not possible, a custom structure is designed using supports, tensile fabrics, and anchors.

Operation and components:
The GreenShades system consists of:
- Tensioned sails (including anchors and supports).
- Treatment of the fabric with specific substrate.
- Irrigation system.
- Water collection.
- Sowing of the sails.
Process:
The sails with the chosen design (with their necessary anchors and supports) are prepared by laying down the specific geotextile substrate (hydroponic).
The irrigation system must reach the highest side, from where the water falls by gravity, soaking the entire substrate.
In addition to water, fertilizer must be provided to keep the vegetation in perfect condition.
The excess water is collected at the lowest point, and a drainage system must be connected.
Once the installation and checks of the irrigation and water collection are done, the seed mixture is projected onto the geotextile (LeafSkin®).
After four months, the shade will be completely covered with vegetation.
REDUCTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
1m² of vegetated surface generates the oxygen required by a person for the whole year.
It absorbs NOX and CO2, contributing to improving air quality in our cities.
It also reduces noise pollution.
REGULATION OF TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY
Through the process of evapotranspiration of plants, it generates a decrease in the temperature of the environment and contributes to regulating humidity.
The shades act as vegetal air conditioners.
They can achieve a cooling power of 112BTUs/m2.
