Function and components
The GreenShades system consists of :
- Tensioned sails (including anchors and supports).
- Treatment of the canvas with specific substrate.
Irrigation system.
Water collection. - Seeding of the sails.
Installation process:
The sails require a design project. With the chosen design (with the necessary anchorages and supports), they will be prepared by arranging the specific geotextile substrate (hydroponic).
The irrigation system must reach the highest side, from where the water falls by gravity soaking the entire substrate.
In addition to water, it must provide fertiliser, keeping the vegetation in perfect condition.
The excess water is collected at the lowest point, and a drain must be connected.
Once the installation has been completed and the irrigation and water collection checks have been carried out, the seed mixture is sprayed onto the geotextile (LeafSkin®).
After four months the awning is completely covered.

PREVIOUS NEEDS: Water point, light point and water outlet connection to return or drainage.
TYPE OF IRRIGATION: SG-A24 hydroponic system adapted to the scale of the vertical garden, with the option of water recirculation or waste water.
WHAT IS A GREEN SHADES AWNING?
Green Shades is the first system worldwide that allows the installation of vegetated awnings or tensile structures covered in vegetation.These elements open up a new range of possibilities for urban landscaping and climate control in covered spaces. In cities, where heat is a problem, Green Shades is an optimal solution for commercial streets, terraces, and squares.
The spaces and projects created reduce the temperature both in their surroundings and under the cover.
Thanks to the evapotranspiration produced by the vegetative system, the awnings act as vegetative air conditioners with a cooling power of 112 frigorías/m2.
In addition, the composition and selected plant species are optimized for the absorption of NOX and CO2, contributing to the improvement of air quality in our cities.The lightweight and easy installation allows for placement in streets where, due to lack of space or difficulty of intervention, trees or other types of vegetation cannot be installed.
WHERE AND HOW CAN GREEN SHADES BE INSTALLED?
Green Shades are a complex living system that requires a previous project, as it is necessary to establish water supply and collection structures.
VEGETATED SAILS ANCHORED TO FAÇADES
It is ideal for the introduction of vegetation in commercial streets and public spaces in historic city centres, providing shaded areas that in turn improve air quality and comfort in the city.
By carrying out a preliminary study of each of the façades, the anchorages are designed so that they meet the structural and regulatory requirements.
GREEN SHADES WITH SUPPORTS
If you are looking for more flexibility in design, using a proprietary structure of horizontal and vertical supports and anchors allows you to vegetate any space of any size.
When there are no façades near the space to be vegetated, or it is not possible to anchor to them, a structure of its own is designed, using supports, tensioned fabrics and anchors.

REDUCTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
1m² of vegetated surface generates the oxygen required by a person for the whole year.
It absorbs NOX and CO2, contributing to improving air quality in our cities.
It also reduces noise pollution.
REGULATION OF TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY
Through the process of evapotranspiration of plants, it generates a decrease in the temperature of the environment and contributes to regulating humidity.
The shades act as vegetal air conditioners.
