In response to the challenge of high temperatures at the Gabriela Mistral school in Solana de los Barros, Badajoz, the LIFEmyBUILDINGisGREEN project was adopted, focusing on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to improve the school microclimate and the well-being of the educational community.

This approach included planting green areas to provide shade and improve air quality, installing green roofs and walls for natural thermal regulation of buildings, rainwater harvesting systems for sustainable use of resources, and creating dedicated spaces for environmental education.

These interventions not only contribute to a cooler and healthier environment, but also foster environmental awareness among students and teachers, demonstrating the effectiveness of SBNs against excessive heat and educating about sustainability and care for the planet.
