The maintenance of bio-pools or natural pools is a doubt that many of you have.
It is often thought that it is something quite complicated, but the truth is that it is quite the opposite, it is even easier than the maintenance of conventional pools.
That is why in the following lines we would like to explain everything in detail and give you the example of the natural pool that we have in our facilities.
Benefits
There are many benefits of installing a natural swimming pool, which we have mentioned on several occasions, but for those who are not aware of them, we would like to tell you the following:
- The water is cleaned by the plants themselves through a process called the nitrogen cycle.
- By not using products that contain chemical components, allergies, skin lesions, mucous membranes… are avoided.
- As far as the maintenance of bio-pools is concerned, as they are cleaned autonomously by the plants in the pool, the maintenance is quite basic and does not involve a lot of work.

Regular maintenance
As we have said before, natural swimming pools do not require a lot of maintenance, but they do require some minimum maintenance.
The bottom of the pool should be cleaned regularly to remove any dirt that may fall into the swimming pool. This is done with a pool cleaner and should only be done on the floor of the pool.

Annual maintenance of the bio-pool
Apart from this regular maintenance, the following aspects should be maintained annually:
- A small pruning of the plants in the pool should be carried out, as shown below:
- In addition, if the pool has any type of filter, it is advisable to clean it once a year to remove any dirt that has become encrusted over time. In the following video we also show you how we have cleaned it.
