We are excited to announce that SingularGreen has been selected to participate in the iClimaBuilt Open Call, a European initiative funded by the Horizon 2020 program. This opportunity allows us to test and validate the performance of GreenThermoWall, our innovative green façade system designed to enhance energy efficiency in buildings.

Purpose of the Test and Validation
The primary objective of our project is to obtain real performance data on GreenThermoWall’s U-value (W/(m²⋅K)), a key measure of thermal transmittance that determines how well a material or assembly resists heat transfer.
To achieve this, we will implement GreenThermoWall on a single test wall divided into three sections:
- Bare wall (no insulation)
- Wall insulated with GreenThermoWall (without plants)
- Wall insulated with GreenThermoWall and covered with vegetation
This setup will allow us to compare and quantify the thermal performance of each scenario, demonstrating how vegetation and insulation impact energy efficiency.
As a reference, typical U-values are:
- Well-insulated walls: 0.15 W/(m²⋅K)
- Poorly insulated walls: 2 W/(m²⋅K)
By participating in iClimaBuilt, we aim to showcase how nature-based solutions can contribute to reducing energy consumption, mitigating urban heat island effects, and improving thermal comfort in cities.

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project!
