House preserved plant,

In a private house in Valencia, a vertical garden with preserved plants was installed, a solution specifically chosen for its low maintenance requirements and the impossibility of installing an irrigation system. This type of garden is ideal for places where it is not feasible to maintain natural vertical gardens due to logistical or design constraints. The preserved plants are treated to maintain the appearance of fresh, living vegetation without the need for water, making them a perfect decorative option for indoor spaces.
The garden is located on a prominent wall in the living room, serving as an aesthetic focal point that captures the gaze of visitors. Its composition includes a variety of plants in different shades of green and textures, adding depth and an air of nature to the environment. This installation is an example of how the beauty of nature can be integrated into the modern home, even when the original conditions do not allow it.
The freeze-dried plant gardens are formed by a composition of preserved plant species that combined form a unique, exclusive and personalized design for each client. What is intended with this type of gardens is to create natural spaces avoiding the work that can lead to a garden to use, such as pruning, irrigation…
The plants we work with are under a treatment where the preservative liquid replaces the sap and water of the plant itself, creating a look as natural as the initial one.
In this case the composition was formed by:
- Flat moss
- Ball moss
- Lichen
- Asparagus
- Fern felci
- Amaranthus
Procedure to do this project
To carry out a vertical garden of preserved plants, the following procedure is followed:
1º. Previous design and proposals of the preserved garden
A preliminary design is made and sent to the client for approval. Once accepted by the client we move on to the next phase, the realization.
2º. Realization of the freeze-dried plant vertical garden.
The realization of the garden begins by having the pieces of the exact measures in PVC, then these pieces are composed and the space for each plant is drawn on them. We start with the base plant which is the flat moss, then the lichen, followed by the ball moss and finally we finish the garden by placing the hanging plants such as the amaranthus, the ferns and the asparagus.
Maintenance of this vertical garden
This type of gardens once finished its elaboration does not require any type of maintenance, only a series of recommendations must be fulfilled so that its duration is much greater in the time.
In the first place they are gardens destined to interior spaces, reason why they cannot be exposed to very high temperatures neither very low, being the optimal temperature between 15 and 25ºC.
Likewise, they should not be exposed to long periods of humidity as this is counterproductive for the plants. Fulfilling these requirements guarantees that the garden can last for years.
