Today we would like to share with you a new project, a vegetated sail, which we have been working on for months, and which we have designed to provide a solution to a problem we are facing for the first time.
Description of the project
This is a housing development in Ibiza, which on the adjoining plot, at an approximate distance of about 10 m from the last houses, has installed a mobile phone antenna that is a landscaping problem for the neighbours.

Faced with this situation, the developer of the project asked us for a solution to hide the antenna and improve the views of their future neighbours, with the added disadvantage that it was not possible to build a retaining wall, because there was not enough space between the plot of the development and the antenna.
How did we arrive at the solution of the vegetated sail?
After carrying out a study of the surroundings, we decided to design a much lighter solution, inspired by other projects that had already been carried out, such as the vegetal awnings in Valladolid, and that is when the idea of the vegetated sail came up.

With a mast and a tensioned textile structure, we managed to hide the antenna so that it is not visible from any of the homes in the development.
We have been able to design this system thanks to the Leafskin technology patented by SingularGreen, which allows us to create very light textile structures where we can incorporate the vegetation.

Special feature of the vegetated sail
The vegetated sail has a special feature, which is the incorporation of a stainless steel mesh in the textile that supports the Leakskin system.
This blocks the wavelength of the mobile antenna so that the emission cannot reach the houses. In this way, the homes are protected from both the landscape and the waves.

Here is a video with all the details of the project.
In addition, the environmental benefits of a vertical garden, such as the absorption of polluting particles and the reduction of temperature, are worth mentioning.

Right now we are in the process of development and it has not yet been installed, but if you want to see another example of a solution made with the Leafskin system, here is a link to our project of the vegetated awnings installed in Valladolid.
